Based within 1986 by Vernon L. Strickland III around Wash., D.C., Delta Lambda Phi (DLP) occurs as national social fraternity for gay, bisexual, & progressive gentlemen. It offers the social environment & structure similar to more greek-model college fraternities. For numerous men, DLP functions as a unique choice to the typically superficial social choices available to the gay male community. Despite a organization with fewer than twenty active chapters when all but 2 decades of history, it remain a united states's oldest & big fraternity geared toward homo & epicene men.

Delta Lambda Phi is governed by its Annual National Convention.
